SCC Week 5…So much for 4-0 vs 4-0…

Well so much for two undefeated teams meeting in week 5. Shelton screwed that up. They could not get the running game going and could not handle 6 foot 8 Will Tye. Score ended up Will Tye 21 and Shelton 14. Shelton did complain about the officiating and all my connections agreed it was pathetic. I get a chuckle when you think of like this….A Valley school getting “jobbed” at a private school. You do not have to be in the SCC to have that happen.
I really feel that if you are a bad football team and want to feel good about your program and boost you teams confidence and self esteem you should schedule some division II teams….Hillhouse is unbeaten at 4-0 and is the beneficiary of this “great” group of schools. I have seen Foran and they scored 54 on E.Haven. OMG East Haven must be really bad. Sheehan starts 3-0 and moves up to Div I and gets rolled by Hand…. Obviously Finn stadium is the place to be but WH and Hand is always fun…Regardless, enjoy wherever you go

Week 5 Games

Prep (2-1) at Amity (1-3)Last week: Prep defeated Law 33-6; Amity lost to Hamden 48-26
Should be a good one. Amity can really make a statement and give then something to hang their hats on if they win as they can’t be happy at 1-3…Anyone know why all those players really left the team??

Hamden (4-0) at Shelton (3-1)Last week: Hamden defeated Amity 48-26; Shelton lost to Xavier 21-14Maybe the worst thing for Hamden is that Shelton lost. Hamden has more speed. They are 4-0 just like everyone with a football mind knew if they had a real head coach. Shelton must play their A game…May the best team win.

West Haven (1-2) at Hand (2-2)Last week: West Haven defeated Notre Dame 43-14; Hand defeated Sheehan 35-15
Always an exciting game. WH seems to be getting some swagger back. Filipone will coach em’ up this week that is for sure.

Cheshire (2-2) at Notre Dame (0-3)Last week: Cheshire defeated Cross 33-14; ND lost to West Haven 43-14This is a game where I can see Cheshire finding a way to mess it up. Then again ND is messed up already.

Law (2-2) at Guilford (2-2)Last week: Law lost to Prep 33-6; Guilford defeated Lyman Hall 40-0
Why do I have no opinion on this?? I can not think of anything funny to say either..Sorry…

Lyman Hall (2-2) at Hillhouse (4-0)Last week: Lyman Hall lost to Guilford 40-0; Hillhouse defeated Branford 35-13When I think of Lyman Hall (or Sheehan) all I can think of how bad Maloney and Platt must be…Hillhouse has already started to practice for Prep and Shelton…ooops Cross too….

East Haven (0-4) at Sheehan (3-1)Last week: East Haven lost to Foran 54-17; Sheehan lost to Hand 35-15
And some of have the nerve to say Rusty Dunne was an awful coach. Shame on you!!!!

North Haven (2-2) at Foran (3-1)Last week: North Haven defeated Derby 48-0; Foran defeated East Haven 54-17
NH is tougher. They will be well coached. Sags will find a way!

Xavier (3-1) at Branford (2-2)Last week: Xavier defeated Shelton 21-14; Branford lost to Hillhouse 35-13
Ask the folks from Shelton and they will tell you Xavier is much better at home….They are on the road…….but it is Branford…….

Derby (1-3) at Cross (3-1)Last week: Derby lost to North Haven 48-0; Cross lost to Cheshire 33-14
I know they have a Coach D. there now but…..can you imagine what the last two Coach D’s they had think about this storied program now!

Could be worse in Derby...Wouldn't they have traditionally played Ansonia in October? Oh wait, the NVL killed that rivalry.

I knew Shelton was in trouble against Xavier when I saw one of the officials make the sign of the cross before the kick off

"They are 4-0 just like everyone with a football mind knew if they had a real head coach."

Thank you, thank you so much for recognizing this...
