YES! Jaff-Man TV!

Watch, how Mr. Jaffee has so much trouble "predicting" the Ansonia-HC game. Mike, on the other hand, has no problem picking games...clearly states everything...He's always comfortable in front of the camera (good hit, Boggs). Jaffman can't bring himself to say something bad about the Crusaders. It's like he physically can't do it. Maybe it's a mental block, like when hypnotists make people cluck like chickens every time they hear a bell. He won't make clear statements. He avoided making a call on the Crosby-Naugy game, until his partner forces him to state his opinion that Crosby will win (which is obvious to everyone that follows this league). This goes along with his need to write the human-interest, feel-good football stories. Sorry, Jaff, but you crack me up. Nothin' personal. On a more serious note, the message Jaffee makes at the end is something I wholeheartedly agree with.

Also, today, the Republican posted Jaffee's midseason awards. I don't think anyone can argue with his choices in the running for top players: Mike Osiecki and Billy Raggone are certainly the two best players I've seen this year. His candidates for coach of the year are nice picks as well: Joe Stochmal of Oxford and Dan Dunaj at Torrington. He only has one Ansonia Charger on the list, but found room for two HC Crusaders on the list...seems fishy. And I've got to say, I really appreciate that he's giving some love to Seymour's Jacob Drozd. If not for Mike Osiecki, I think he'd be the talk of the Wildcats defense. No Woodland Hawks or Torrington Red Raiders players listed, but I think that will change by the end of this year. John Murren or DJ Williams should get mention soon enough. Plus, after watching Dion Ojoe return that kick on Seymour last week...where's the love?

Side note: Any news on the injuries to Crosby's RB and WR? Why hasn't the commish released this week's injury report?

Why would Oxford have the coach of the year?? Has he done something special there and I missed it?

He's established a positive program, that does things well, and went varsity a year early. The team opened with opponents that currently are like 28-2. That being said, starting from absolutely ground level, and building up, he's done wonders.

Crosby's Jerome Cunningham is not seriuosly injusred. He was told to sit by the coaching staff because of an arm injury. Though he is still questionable for play against Wolcott this week.
