CCC

TOP 10
................................
Glastonbury
Simsbury
Berlin
Northwest Catholic
Conard
Bloomfield
Windsor
Southington
New Britain
Wethersfield

Just a note.I believe the CCC did not do a great job with their 4 tier alignment.Middletown should not be in D1.
Bloomfield's and Conard's schedule so far is God Awful.Neither teams remaining schedule is spectacular but much more competitive than its previous 8 opponents.Conard has Southington(4-3) in week #9 and Bloomfield has Rocky Hill(3-4) in week #9 and Windsor(5-2) in week #10.Maybe they should have went with a 2 division(East and West divisions) with a few cross overs.

Week #8 Game of the week is Glastonbury vs New Britain.Sean McQuillan leads the Tomahawk offense with his running and passing. No way New Britain stops him but slowing him up may be enough in what should be a high scoring affair.New Britain has many offensive weapons:Chris Linares,Tebucky Jones Jr,Rafel Garcarz,
Kaiuway Boima.Unfortunately it looks like no post season appearence for the Golden Hurricanes since the departure of Jack Cochran(5 Years).

Calling them as I see them:
...................................................................................
Its a shame the Newington coaching staff did not give their team a opportunity to pull off a big upset vs Glastonbury on Saturday.Down 2 scores with about 7 minutes to play ,Newington takes over at their own 30.3 running plays chews up 3 minutes and then on 4th and 2 you punt. What kind of football strategy isthat ? You practice 5 times a week and thats the best you can come up with coach ??

CCC Week #1

General thoughts week #1

New teams join the CCC Family:
RHAM
Plainville
East Catholic
Tolland
Rocky Hill
Northwest Catholic
Berlin
Farmington

New Britain may get LL post season play for the first time( 5 years) in the post Cochran era in 2009.Many offensive weapons:Chris Linares,Tebucky Jones Jr,Rafel Garcarz

Glastonbury seems to have some new offensive weapons and may also compete for a 2009 LL post season spot.

Southington can still throw the ball with QB Connor Butkiewicz but I do not think this is a strong Blue Knights team and will not find a LL post season appearence.

Simsbury looking to two peat a L playoff spot.

Can Berlin dominate in the CCC like it did in the Nutmeg for many years ?

Is Weaver that bad and football at deaths door for the Beavers ?

These questions and many more to be answered on football grid irons throughout the Hartford area in the coming 9 weeks.

My Top 20 Poll

A poll is not formulated necessarily by any scientific studies and it has it flaws.I try to take a team or 2 from all regions/leagues.This is necessary as most teams stay "in house"for regular season play.I combine overall record, strength of schedules,Quality wins /Bad losses and head to head opponents as well as head to head play when applicable. An example of polls and its flaws is demonstrated in the following example: I would favor Ridgefield to win a game over Rocky Hill if they played a game, but in my mind Rocky Hill had a better year and thusly enters at #20 and Ridgefield does not appear,So it goes when preparing a poll...

After attending my 50th game of the year and the season ending, here is what I consider my top 20.Note :the only teams that I did not see live this year in my top 20 were Newtown,Greenwich and Rocky Hill.

1 NEW CANAAN
2 GLASTONBURY
3 MASUK
4 NEW LONDON
5 CROMWELL
6 BROOKFIELD
7 DARIEN
8 HILLHOUSE
