CIAC Semi-Finals Tuesday...w/ predictions

Class LL-
#4 Newtown (9-3*) vs. #1 Glastonbury (11-0)-Glastonburies Newtown riding Jordan Brown... Glastonbury-34 Newtown-13
#3 Cheshire (9-2) vs. #2 Hamden (9-2)-Ragone's Rams get a second chance at the Dragons. Cheshire lost 2 games by a total of 8 points...Hamden is coming off a shocker in the Green Bowl. I'm not sure they can come back from that. One reader won't like thist, but my feeling is Rams win...barely. Cheshire-22 Hamden-20

Class L-3 mediocre CCC teams and Masuk
#4 Windsor (9-2) vs. #1 Masuk (10-1)-Panthers win! Masuk-27 Windsor-8
#3 Newington (9-2) vs. #2 Simsbury (9-2)-Nothing to say. When in doubt, go with the home team. Simsbury-13 Newington-6

Class MM-
#4 Weaver (8-3) vs. #1 New Canaan (11-0)-New Canaan dams the Beavers. New Canaan-31 Weaver-17
#3 Darien (10-1) vs. #2 Hillhouse (11-0)-Big Blue gives the Acs the axe. Darien-29 Hill House-23

Class M-
#4 Avon (9-2) vs. #1 Brookfield (10*-1)-Brookfield wins the battle of the bank accounts... Brookfield-14 Avon-6
#3 Cheney Tech (10-0) vs. #2 Ledyard (9-2)-So much for an undefeated Tech school, Ledyard will win, because any team that can put an L next to New London should win a state championship. Ledyard-24 Cheney Tech-7

Class SS-
#4 Montville (9-2) vs. #1 New London (10-1)-Call me crazy, but I think Montville's last second loss to the Whalers earlier this season was fluky. Losing to St. Bernard's-Norwich Tech is less fluky. I'm going out on a limb and going Montville on this one...just because Jack's a prick. Montville-24 New London-18

#3 Rocky Hill (10-1) vs. #2 Seymour (10-1)-I've got a strange feeling that Paul Sponheimer leaves DeBarber field with a W in his final home game. Seymour-27 Rocky Hill-18

Class S-
#4 Hyde Leadership (9-2) vs. #1 Cromwell (10-1)-Cromwell escaped with a W earlier this season, winning by a FG. Hyde serves revenge cold. Hyde-21 Cromwell-18
#3 North Branford (10-1) vs. #2 Ansonia (11*-1)-T-Birds are the only team to beat Cromwell this year, but Chargers have something more to prove. Call it a hunch, but the NVL's two representatives will make it to the state finals. Chargers will win this one, but the question is whether they will do it unscathed. Ansonia-28 North Branford-15

No way Hillhouse loses to Darien. Academics will win handily, 26-13.

That's not exactly handily.

C, I believe it is...

hand-i-ly [han-di-lee, -dl-ee]

skillfully; dexterously;

No where in there does the definition say beat by a lot of points....

Handily has an alternate definition-EASILY...which implies a lot of points. That's how I took it. HOWEVER, skillyfully is another story all together.

I still am going with Darien
